Van Hoosen Farm
and the
Rochester Grangers Game
One of the many historical houses on Van Hoosen Farm. I thought it was quite nice looking.
As yes, the Stoney Creek one room school house. If you were a 3rd grade student here in rochester, you should remember spending two days here.
Old timey cars! I bet they get 40 rods to the hogs head.
Big horse! But quite friendly.
A father feeding his child to the horse!!!! Either that or the child is feeding the horse.
Here is the boat man who's making canoes and rowboats and sailboats...BY HAND :O
There are two things my dad has taught me about life...one....you can do anything you set your mind to...and number two...you can never have enough clamps...
....NEVER enough....
This man is smithing away on something black....hence he is the blacksmith.
The Rochester Grangers starting lineup! HAZZAH!
The ball heads for home plate!
The striker (batter) swings!
...and swings again!
Here was a funny moment. These guys play the game as it was played in 1860. The umpire (in the grey) caught Bob "Roadblock" Grace doing something ungentlemanly. The ump charged him 1 day's pay....or $0.25. He also had to go apologize to the cranks (fans). It was hilarious:)
That's one really good hurler (pitcher)!
This hurler is really getting into it!
The Rochester Granger bench!
One of my favorite players, Mike "Cueball" Johnson goes around and has the kids autograph his head:).
All the Rochester Granger cranks in the outfield. The Grangers beat the Fallasburg Cubs! HAZZAH!
